Maxime Matthys Talk – The Photographers’ Gallery As a part of my professional development planning blog, I was required to attend multiple talks in regard to my studies, at galleries, in order to gain further insight into the photography industry and what it’s like to be working within it. Vasantha Yogananthan Talk – The Photographers’ Gallery As a part of my professional development planning blog, I was required to attend multiple talks in regard to my studies at galleries in order to gain further insight into the photography industry and what it’s like to be working within it. Evgenia Arbugaeva Talk – The Photographers’ Gallery As a part of my professional development planning blog, I was required to attend multiple talks in regard to my studies at galleries in order to gain further insight into my desired area of photography. I decided to attend a talk at The Photographers’ Gallery in London, online, with the photographer Evgenia Arbugaeva who is a documentary photographer from Russia whose work focuses on the idea of narrative and storytelling using landscape and documentary photography. By focusing on these themes, her work often links to the idea of magical realism by creating photographs that resonate with fable, myth, and romanticism.   Diana Markosian Talk – The Photographers’ Gallery As a part of my professional development planning blog, I was required to attend multiple talks in regard to my studies at galleries in order to gain further insight into my desired area of photography. I decided to attend a talk at The Photographers’ Gallery in London, online, with the photographer Diana Markosian who is a portrait, conceptual and documentary photographer from Moscow whose work focuses on the idea of narrative and storytelling using video and photography. Her work which has been documented in the remotest corners of the world has been showcased in many famous publications such as National Geographic Magazine, The New Yorker and The News York Times. Work Experience - Strikeback Concert

  Strikeback Concert . Location: Boxpark, Croydon Date: 22 nd March 2017 As part of my work experience as a photographer I had a previous opportunity on the 22 nd of March 2017 working at a concert at Boxpark in Croydon. For this work experience I was situated in the role of photographer and music video assistant throughout the night that I was working for the musicians and bands. As a photographer, I was required to work closely with the solo musicians and bands who were performing and their management and PR both before and after the concert, taking backstage and performance photographs that would be used for advertisement and publicity on their websites and social medias as well as for the portfolios of the solo musicians and bands. I was also required to help with setting up the photographic and camera equipment such as tripods, lenses, lighting, and backdrops whilst being able to give input and information to the management crew and the lighting teams at the concert...

Location: Harlequin Theatre and Cinema, Redhill Date: 8 th and 9 th August 2017 As part of my work experience as a photographer I had a previous opportunity on the 8 th and 9 th of August 2017 working with YG Musicality who are a young actors and performance group based in Redhill who perform in productions at the Harlequin Theatre and Cinema. For this work experience I was situated in the role of photographer and stage assistant throughout the two nights I was working for the performance group. As a photographer, I was required to work closely with the performers and management who had arranged the performance both before and after the show, taking backstage and performance photographs that would be used for advertisement and publicity on their websites and social medias as well as for sale in the programmes and photographic prints made for the productions.
